Red Wings: Chelios Inducted Into the Hall Of Fame
Chris Chelios was inducted into the hall of fame yesterday. He played for four teams during his NHL career and leads all defensemen in games played with 1651.

It was official today that the Detroit Lions resigned CB Chris Houston to a 2 year $3 million dollar contract. Officially as of now the Detroit Lions have accomplished their goal of signing 2 cornerback's and 2 linebackers without spending over 100 million dollars.

Detroit Lions next FA prospect.
Former Green Bay Packers linebacker Nick Barnett will visit the Detroit Lions on Sunday and discuss the possibility of signing a free agent contract with the team. Barnett was released by the Packers on Friday in a salary cap move. The Lions are also in negotiations with former Tennessee Titans linebacker Stephen Tulloch. According to a source close to the situation, Barnett will fly into Detroit tonight and then meet with team officials on Sunday.

Tigers Win Seventh Sraight
The Tigers have now won seven straight and improve to a record of 22-18 on the season.
Red Wings are Eliminated
The Sharks defeated the Red Wings 3-2 in game seven to advance to the Western Conference Championship Series Thursday night. The Red Wings are the eighth team to lose the first three games in a series and force a game seven, but only three have done so. The Red Wings finish the season at 47-25-10 and are eliminated in the playoffs in the second round for the second consecutive season by the Sharks.

Tigers sweep Twins
The Detroit Tigers won both games against the Twins in the series, 10-2 and 9-7. The Tigers have now won five straight games. The Tigers improve to a record of 20-18. The Tigers finally get a day off tomorrow.
Red Wings Force Game Seven
The Red Wings defeated the Sharks 3-1 last night to force a game seven. A team that was down 3-0 in a series has ownly come back and won three times in history and if the Red Wings win tomorrow night it will be the fourth.

Verlander Records Second Career No-Hitter as Tigers win 9-0
Justin Verlander recorded his second career no-hitter tonight as the Detroit Tigers win 9-0 over the Toronto Blue Jays. Justin Verlander walked one batter and struck out four. Alex Avila and Johnny Peralta both hit home runs to help in run support in the victory. Justin Verlander has thrown two of the Tigers seven no-hitters in franchise history.

The Sharks beat Red Wings 4-3 in OT, take 3-0 lead
The San Jose Sharks defeated the Detroit Red Wings today 4-3 in OT. The Sharks now have a 3-0 series lead and need one more series win to make it to the Western Conference Championship Series. The Red Wings are now in must win mode and need to win the rest of the games in the series to win the series and if the Sharks win one for game, they win the series.

Sharks take a 2-0 lead in series against Red Wings
The Detroit Red Wings lost again today 2-1 to the San Jose Sharks. The Sharks have a 2-0 series lead over the Red Wings. The Red Wings now have to win four of the next five games to move onto the Western Conference Championship Series.
Tigers lose to the Indians again 5-4
The Indians completed the sweep of the Tigers today by a score of 5-4. Tigers have now lost six straight games and fall to a record of 12-16. They have now been swept in two consecutive series and face the New York Yankees tomorrow at home.
Detroit Lions: Draft
The Detroit Lions had a tremendous draft for the third consecutive year. This year they drafted Nick Fairley, a DT out of Auburn, for the 13th pick of the first round. In the second round they took Titus Young, a WR out of Boise St, for the 44th overall pick and then they traded up to get Mikel Leshoure, a RB out of Illinois, for the 57th overall pick of the draft. In the fifth round they drafted Douglas Hogue, a LB out of Syracuse, for the 157the overall pick of the NFL draft. And in the seventh round the Lions drafted Johnny Culbreath, a OT out of South Carolina St, for the 209th pick of the draft. The Lions had the best draft according to two of the top ESPN analysts.
Detroit Pistons: Season in Review
The Detroit Pistons finished out the season with a 30-52 record. They did not make the playoffs for the second consecutive season.
Red Wings Lose to Sharks, Trail in Series 1-0
The Detroit Red Wings lost Friday to the San Jose Sharks 2-1 in overtime. Nicklas Lidstrom of the Red Wings scored first with 9:30 left in the 1st period. Then Joe Palveski of the Sharks scored with 10:22 left in regulation to send the game into overtime. Then Benn Ferriero of the Sharks scored the winning goal in overtime with 7:03 left to take the first game of the series. This game was the Red Wings first overtime game in this year's playoffs and the Sharks fourth game that went into overtime.
